3 Best spots to Paddle Board for Beginners in San Diego, CA.
San Diego has miles of public beaches and is a popular haven for stand up paddle boarding (a.k.a. SUP). And with warm weather year round and an epic coastline it's super easy to fall in love with the view. As a beginner, this is a sport fit for anyone who is looking to get out on the water, but may be hesitant to try out surfing. It is a lot calmer but still provides exciting challenges of all levels!
What Do You Need?
As a water based sport, there is equipment needed for both adventure and safety. Here is the gear needed for paddle boarding as a beginner:
- SUP or Stand Up Paddle Board: you can find an inflatable SUP here, as it's easier to travel with. I recommend getting the pump here since inflating it does take some time.
- Paddle
- PFD a.k.a. a personal floatation device
- Leash
- Sun Block Clothing
